This bike was built with a Ryca RR-1 Hardtail Bobber Kit.
Tell us a little about yourself and why you decided to build a RYCA.
I'm 26, from Norway and work in Würth. Selling tools and pretty much every screw, nut and bolt that exists :P I was stoked on the bobber look so I started going through the internet to find pictures, parts and kits for Harleys, Yamahas and Kawasakis. Then I found the RR-1. I was sold immediately! Perfect look, hardtail and pretty cheap!
How did you find your Suzuki? What year model? What shape was it in?
I found it online. 1996, 12000km and in mint condition. Figured if I was going to build something for the first time, I might as well make it a bit easier on myself :)
How long have you been riding?
Got my license the day after the bike was done! :)
What advice would you give to future RYCA builders?
Do it! Take your time, drink some beer and have fun!
What was the best thing about building the bike?
Just being in the garage with the bike, listening to music and building your own bike. Awesome! And of course all the good feedback and comments when it was done :D Few people get what it is originally and are blown away when they see what I started with!
Tell us about any problems you had and how you solved them.
Highly underestimated the time needed to get the fender, tank and sidecaps ready for paint. That took alot of time, but it was worth it! My bike is painted with spray cans and plasti-dip on spokes and hubs. Cheap and looks great if you take the time to do it right!
Anything else you want to add?
Thanks for a good experience, Ryca!
Thanks Mats, looks like an awesome bike!
